Review
Warzone 2100 is a real-time strategy game which was originally developed by Pumpkin Studios and published by Eidos Interactive. This title is well-known for being one of the first real-time strategy games in 3D, and its first commercial release was in the year 1999 for Windows-based PCs and PlayStation. However, on December the 6th, 2004 it was released under the GNU General Public License, thus becoming a free game. Nowadays, the Warzone Resurrection Project developing team is in charge of the development of this amazing RTS video-game.
Plot:
At the end of the twenty-first century, various civilizations of the world dissapeared after a series of battles with nuclear weapons involved. While most of the survivors formed gangs (scavenger bands) to survive, a group of people who call themselves "The Project" sought ways of using technology to reconstruct the pre-war civilization. The game begins with the main character, the Commander, who is sending his teams to retrieve technology in Arizona that may be useful for reconstruction.
While recovering the aforementioned devices or "artifacts" as they call them, The Project suffered attacks from an organization called the New Paradigm, which was operating under the control of another group called the Nexus, which was just one of those most responsible for nuclear war. In the final campaign, The Project deploys a massive attack against Nexus, destroying it and in this way, they eliminated all significant organized opposition to their reconstruction project for the Earth.
Graphic and sound.
The 3D graphics are very well done and realistic, the sound section is good, including great effects and music. So, if you like futuristic war games, this is your chance! |
